Knitted and intertwined threads are all interconnected and make up one single piece. Visitors are welcome to interact with the installation and the space, and to wear the art. The connections that extend into the space represent the virtual links that unite us in a material and tactile way.

Communications technologies take a lot from the textile vocabulary. We connect to the “network”, we browse the “web” and we read “threads” of news and updates. This project was born from wordplay on the subject. Over the knitted webs, I superimpose other concepts of nets, meshes, networks, and weaves. From this idea arises an aesthetic exploration where webs and connections are the common threads. With each intertwined loop, I build a new visual and tactile story that cannot be grasped only with words.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
Martin Luther King Jr.

This project was exhibited at the DesignTO Festival 2019, in 2022 at La Maison des artistes visuels francophones and the Alliance Française de Toronto and at the Cambridge Art Galleries in 2025.
